Hi! I Asmi is a passionate advocate for the well-being of athletes, I am deeply committed to transforming the sports industry into a safer and more dignified space for everyone. Throughout my journey, I’ve been continually inspired by the incredible power that sports have to unite individuals, foster teamwork, and build resilience. However, I’ve also recognized the importance of ensuring that sports environments are not only empowering but also respectful and safe for all participants, regardless of gender, background, or experience.
My journey began when I first witnessed the vulnerabilities that many athletes face, especially women, in the world of sports in my college assignment by the sports research methods. The issue of safety—both physical and emotional—often gets overlooked, and the dignity of athletes can sometimes be compromised in environments that prioritize performance over well-being. This realization pushed me to explore ways in which I could make a meaningful impact. I’ve always believed that a strong, positive foundation in any sport starts with a focus on the safety and dignity of its players. For me, ensuring that athletes feel secure, valued, and respected is non-negotiable. It is a right, not a privilege.
In Humber college apart from my assignments , internships, and volunteer experiences, I have developed a strong commitment to this cause. I have worked on several projects that focused on educating coaches, athletes, and organizations about the importance of safe practices, mental health support, and the vital role of respect in all sports settings. My aim is not just to raise awareness but to implement real, actionable change that makes sports a better, safer, and more inclusive space for everyone, particularly for women and marginalized groups.
What drives me most is the potential to lead initiatives that can reshape the way we think about sports culture. As a woman who has experienced both the joys and challenges of sport firsthand, I understand how important it is to foster environments where athletes—especially women—feel empowered to thrive without fear of harassment, injury, or discrimination. This is why I am determined to create and champion programs that prioritize safety, integrity, and dignity, ensuring that athletes can perform at their best without compromising their well-being.
Throughout my career, I have focused on learning about the intersection of sports, safety protocols, mental health, and equality. I have gained experience through internships, workshops, and collaboration with experts in the field, and I continue to seek opportunities where I can push for positive change. By working with sports organizations, advocating for better regulations, and using technology to spread awareness, I aim to break down the barriers that exist within sports and create a more supportive environment for everyone involved.
In the future, I aspire to lead projects that will contribute to the development of safer sports environments. Whether it’s through policy development, educational campaigns, or grassroots advocacy, I am determined to make an impact. The goal is to see a world where safety, dignity, and respect are at the forefront of every sporting event, practice, and interaction were athletes, regardless of gender or background.
I believe that change is possible, and I am committed to being part of the movement that makes sports a better place for everyone. Through dedication, collaboration, and unwavering belief in the power of sport to inspire positive change, we can build a future where every athlete feels safe, valued, and dignified. Moreover, I believe that influencers like Serena Williams are my inspiration to motivate me and foster my success and growth. Sustainability is my prime motive and fundamental aspect in leading my path in life and in any field. I have also worked on cpr certifications which is a lifesaving technique.
